Traditional Use: The traditional use of garlic and garlic is well known. It is an herb which is known as flavouring in different kinds of food. Garlic has been used as a medicine also for many years. Garlic oil is used as medicine for many diseases.

Properties:

Garlic oil is used for many health conditions like heart and blood system. It is very good for coronary heart diseases, cholesterol, heart attacks and thickening of arteries. It helps in reducing atherosderosis and reduces blood pressure to a certain extent. Garlic oil has properties to prevent cancers of different types like colon cancer, stomach cancer, breast cancer, prostate cancer, rectal cancer and lung cancer. It is also used for the treatment of bladder cancer and prostate cancer.  It is also used for the enlargement of prostate, diabetes, osteoarthritis, cold and flu, diarrhoea, hay fever and late pregnancy.

Safety Data: If taken in normal quantity garlic oil is safe. Do consult as doctor when you are pregnant and want to use garlic oil. Same is the case when you are breast feeding. Eating garlic is safe if taken in small quantity. Fresh garlic may increase bleeding. It is better to stop garlic at least two weeks before a planned surgery. When taken orally it may upset stomach.
